I didn't know where to say this, but I wanted to say thank you from a different perspective.
I've been lucky enough not to deal with this in my own life (which actually according to the stats is fairly uncommon, sadly).
But I work for a very small part of a government (in Canada) that deals with funding Violence Against Women programs. My job on a daily basis includes looking at stats on counselling, women's shelters, children's support, etc. Making sure they get their funding. Setting up opportunities to get even small pots of more money.
I hear the qualitative piece around it, thankfully we do get the stories that go with the numbers from agencies - but this site is giving me a better picture of WHY we do what we do. Despite appearances, there are at least some public servants within government that lobby for more support, even some politicians that understand the needs out there and actually listen. We always need to do more, but I hope that some people out there are accessing and being supported by their local services.
Well done on the blog. I'll be reading.

I'm on link overload, but it's all good! How cool is that to have a channel started on this issue. As for Mojo, just visited his site and wow he did a tremendous job on the video and badges. I'm so excited to see Violence Unsilenced taking off the way it is. (Hugs)Indigo

Holy shit! A whole new channel?? And I can't even find words for the rest of it... and trust me, I know a lot of words.

Ya know Maggie... you just might change the world. I am awed babe. Simply, completely awed.

And without looking I can' t be sure, but the excerpt you quoted sounds like somebody I know... I wonder if it's him.
