Speak Out
Sharing your personal story of domestic violence, sexual assault, or sexual abuse is excruciatingly difficult. It’s also therapeutic, and helps others see their own situations in a new light.
If you feel safe enough to share your story, email maggie@violenceunsilenced.com. Within the email submit an original, never-before-published 500-700 word blog-style post (this word count is not a hard and fast rule, it’s simply a suggested guideline.) Include your name as you would like it to appear publicly, as well as your blog URL if you have one. I will try to reply to your email within 24 hours to let you know I got it, but if you don’t hear from me after three days please resubmit. There is a 3-5 month wait list, but you will have some warning (and the opportunity to make final changes) before your post goes live. We will work together on the details of your submission, including whether or not it is safe for you to post here.
I will also accept anonymous submissions — I just ask that you make it clear within your post WHY you need to be anonymous, as this is so often an enlightening part of the story itself.
