My sister was taken from me by DV in 1994. I have advocated in court for years since then to give a voice to all victims. Your video is one of the most powerful gifts I have ever seen. I so wish these mediums and the access we now have to each other via the web had been available to her then.

Maggie, I can't thank you enough for starting this website. It has been so incredibly empowering, uplifting, comforting in knowing that I am not alone. On the really hard days, it feels like my lifeline to keep going. One day I WILL come back and speak out. I'm getting braver by the day, thanks to you.
I left my violent situation a little over a year ago. It was damn hard, and it still is sometimes, but I spoke out. THANK YOU for Violence Unsilenced. Thank you for the support and love and security.
The secrecy and shame I had to bear as a child and well into my adulthood was a tough load to carry. To know that there are so many that share the heavy burden makes it somehow more easy to bare. If my story helped one young woman know, she wasn't alone, it was all worth it.
Thank you again Maggie, for starting such a Life Changing Website that allows damaged and broken Butterflies a place to land and recoup themselves and maybe start the journey towards recover and love of themselves.

I returned from my therapy appointment today to find this video had been posted, with my picture included. My therapist reminded me that I am strong, and that by speaking out on VU, I took a stand against my rapist and put the blame where it belongs, squarely on his bastard shoulders. How appropriate that this video is the first thing I saw when I returned home from such a powerful appointment. Big hugs and congratulations to all the men and women who spoke out this year. We are all "f*ing perfect."
