Thank you for this. Yes, it is astonishing that so many stay. I think we get tied up in our image too. Being a smart and strong woman, it' feels like a pretty major admission of weakness. But it's not. It takes great strength to admit it and move on.

I'm so glad you got out, so glad you found happiness. Recovery is a hard road and it's so important to have loved ones to support you on your journey. It's hard to look back and see how we refused help along the way, but knowing the signs, it's important for people to not stop trying to help. Eventually, someone will break through and we'll listen.
